EXHIBITION Statement

Efterord (Postscript) exhibits the work of six young artists, whose practice is inspired by their own personal experience. The exhibition revolves around each artist's handsewn photobook, created while studying at Københavns Film & Foto Skole.

Efterord features both a physical display of these books and a visual interpretation of their content through independent artworks. These works emerge from the unique stories of the books, serving as extensions of the narratives and themes they convey.

The artists explore a range of diverse and deeply personal themes—including childhood, gender, identity, the passage of time, and the fundamental human longing to find one’s place in the world.

ArtistS

Kristian Tuxen Ladegaard Berg (b. 2001) is a Danish photographer. He studied at Preparatory Basic Education and Training (FGU) from 2020 to 2022, Vera - School of Art and Design in 2023 and since 2024, he has been studying at Københavns Film & Fotoskole. His work is often socially relevant, using photography as a tool for his message. He primarily works on photo projects within staged photography, portraiture, and documentary genres.

Mathilde Eriksen (b. 2002) is a photo-based artist in Copenhagen. With a playful and performative approach to the intimate self portrait, she uses the camera as a tool to explore how external expectation affects self-perception and the perspective on one’s own identity. Mathilde works primarily within a relational context, focusing on family dynamics and the significance of close, chosen relationships. Through photography and text, she expresses emotions and creates visual dialogue between her personal experiences and a broader narrative.

Thom Geraeds (b. 2000) is a Dutch photographer, who has been based in Copenhagen since 2020. He attended Københavns Film & Fotoskole in 2024. His work consists of visual research around topics including architecture, production cycles, urbanism and nature. The interplay between humans and their living environment is a central, recurring theme in his work.

Viktor Giessing (b. 1997) is a Danish artist based in Copenhagen. In 2024 he studied at Københavns Film & Fotoskole. His work is often inspired by themes of identity, belonging and the unnoticed narratives of life. With staged photography, his practice becomes a desire to celebrate the unseen intricacies of human lives and environments, while aiming to create a feeling between real documentation and constructed scenes.

Mathilde Bæk Mogensen (b. 2003) is a Danish artist. She studied at Vera school of art and design, and Københavns Film & Fotoskole. She will be studying fine art photography at HDK-Vaaland 2025-2028. Her work utilises form, space, and colour to portray personal themes of vulnerability and changeability. Through still life and self-portraiture, she uses photography as a mirror to explore these themes.

Ingrid Laub Ahlmann Olesen (b. 2002) is a Danish artist who studied at Københavns Film & Fotoskole in 2024. Her work often revolves around the human experience and the transitions we go through in life. In her latest project, PIGESIND, she explores what it means to be a young woman and the many  emotions and transformations that define this stage of life.
